- after retasting the columbia crest grand estates cab, i still find in complex for a wine in the $10 price range. maybe i was a little high at 89 points, but this is definitely better than an 83 point wine.
- I should try the snoqualmie whistle stop again.

what could be better...One wine geek, three lovely ladies, two bottles of washington state cabernet sauvignon?

my girlfriend and i hosted an impromptu blind tasting of the 2004 bridgman cabernet sauvignon and the 2004 nelms road cabernet sauvignon. both are columbia valley cabs.

i had previously tasted (and loved) the 2004 bridgman. although this blog is dedicated to the quest for an interesting and lovable $10 cab, i have come to realize that this is a target rather than a hard and fast rule (unless one wants to taste a lot of really bad cabernet).

i found the nelms road to be unobjectionable but uninteresting. the bridgman I loved. interestingly enough, the girls unanimously found the nelms road to be superior in complexity, body and quality.

if you like dry, the bridgman will be you're choice. if you like fruit forward drinkability, go for the nelms road.
